Bread

The main ingredients are cereal flour, water, salt and yeast.
Dough is usually baked, but it could be also fried (puri), steamed (mantou) or cooked in a frying pan (tortillas).
Bread can be also toasted and used as carrier for other foods, used to make sandwiches containing many varieties of condiments, vegetables, meats and cheeses.
Fresh bread is prized for its aroma, quality and taste
It is an excellent source of vitamins, minerals, proteins, fiber and carbohydrates, low in cholesterol and fat.
We can divide bread into “normal” bread and “substitutes”.
