Food and beverages produced by the small artisans of taste are authentic and healthy as they are made from natural and simple products based on traditional recipes.

Food processing is often manual, like the products made by our grandmothers.

The market, however, through large and small supermarkets, offers only industrial food.

The food produced by the large food industries uses poor and shoddy products to maximize profit, food colors to make it pleasing to the eye, and preservatives and anti-molds to make it last as long as possible.

You should know also that the more the food is processed and treated, the more it is harmful and, in the best case, the active ingredients, the fibers, the macronutrients (proteins, carbohydrates and lipids) and the micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) are lost.

The intake of nutrients of the human body is defined as the “primary function” of foods.

While the one that orients the consumers’ choices and thus the sensory satisfaction due to the appearance and taste of food, is considered the “secondary function” of foods.

With industrial food, the secondary function is enhanced as it is what you see and taste and therefore it sells the product, at the expense of the primary one, which is “hidden”.

Regarding the secondary function, the colors for the eye and the sugar for the taste are the masters.

But why then don’t people eat genuine products? The answer is in the fact that at the supermarket you can find only processed foods and only their label is genuine and organic.

And that’s why the mission of Foodgenuine was born, to create a large online supermarket of genuine and healthy foods and beverages, local products, which are homemade, organic, natural, non-GMO, which also meet the conditions, diseases and food choices of certain people, and therefore are sugar-free, gluten-free, for vegans, dairy-free, lactose-free, etc., made by small producers who give value to the “primary function” of foods.
